THE SCALES OF JUSTICE

“Lady Justice”

The “Scales of Justice” pillar is representative of our “raison d’etre” or “our reason for being”.

This unique monument was commissioned by a women’s troop who took this project as a celebration of the 35th Anniversary of their graduation from “Depot”, Troop 4, 1982.

Inscription:

“To honour the women with whom we trained, served, and the women who will follow in our footsteps”

This year, immediately following the memorial service, attendees are invited to a pathway near the cenotaph where we plan to unveil a number of commemorative plaques including special recognition of the 50th anniversary of Women Regular Members. We will also unveil a commemorative plaque in honour of former Commissioner Maurice Jean Nadon as well as another to recognize the RCMP Concert Band which ceased operations 30 years ago in 1994, and the contributions of Band members. We would be pleased if attendees might consider staying after the memorial service and attend the unveiling of these commemorative plaques honouring our colleagues. Beechwood will be hosting a small reception for all those attending these morning ceremonies.
